Here we check in with prominent health journalists and experts to see what sites, newsletters and social media feeds they turn to first every morning. This week, we caught up with Charles Ornsteinsenior reporter for ProPublica. Here are his top morning reads:

I really value daily emails that don't make me feel like I am taking my medicine. I want a healthy dose of health news but also a bit of personality. That said, here's what I like:

Stat News Morning Rounds (written by Megan Thielking) and Stat's Pharmalot report (from Ed Silverman): Both of these emails are really informative but also fun to read.

Politico Pulse (written primarily by Dan Diamond): In addition to Dan's (bad) puns, there's a nice mix of health policy news and links elsewhere.

MedPage Today Morning Break: A nifty collection of health and medicine stories from around the world.

AHCJ's Daily Update: A summary of the latest posts from AHCJ and Pia Christensen's tweets.

Finally, check out my Nuzzel newsletter for a mixture of the stories I'm reading and that I find interesting.
