DEADLINE EXTENDED: The Journalists in Aging Fellows Program, The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and New America Media (NAM)
Information: The Gerontological Society of America (GSA) and New America Media (NAM) are welcoming applications — from journalists who wish to cover aging issues and/or who work for ethnic media outlets serving U.S. communities — for the seventh year of their joint fellowship program. To date, 2016 support is provided by grants from The Silver Century Foundation, AARP, The Retirement Research Foundation, and The John A. Hartford Foundation. Stories resulting from the last six years are available on GSA's website.
Deadline: August 15,2016 at 5 p.m.

National Cancer Reporting Fellowship, National Cancer Institute & AHCJ
Information: AHCJ has teamed up with the National Cancer Institute to present the National Cancer Reporting Fellowships. AHCJ will select up to 15 journalists to spend four days on the campus of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Md., to increase their understanding of and ability to report accurately on complex scientific findings, provide insight into the work of cancer researchers and to better localize cancer-related stories. The 2016 fellowship will be Oct. 23-27.

Information: AHCJ’s Journalism Workshop on Health Information Technology will give journalists a look at the roles of government, the tech industry, health care providers and – last but not least – consumers.
