For just about 4 years Pulse + Signal has been about technology, new media and new ideas happening in and around public & community health. Over those years I have put quite a bit of thought into what really makes a difference to improve the health of our communities. Sure, gadgets and new communication tools can be helpful and buzzworthy but in the end there is only one factor that will make the difference...

People.

The people that are motivated by the eradication of a crippling disease affecting a community. The people that see an opportunity for a fresh approach to age-old problems. The ones who wake up inspired to make a difference.

On the front page of Pulse + Signal you will notice a new tab at the top for the Job section. In addition, there is a widget on the right side of the blog for you to see the latest postings. We've also set up a Twitter account for the job board – you can expect tweets to center around jobs, internships and other growth opportunities for the next generation of public health change.

Need Fulfilled:

The field of public health is undergoing a tremendous change. With an increase in the public's attention to pressing issues such as childhood and adult obesity, access to proper healthcare, threat of widespread epidemics and regular reports on the plight of communities of color – a new crop of talent is sorely needed. The Pulse + Signal job board aims to help fill this need for next generation problem solvers. With a focus on technology, new media/journalism and other innovative areas, the Pulse + Signal job board will connect individuals wanting to improve the health of the masses with the organizations that have the same mission.

Especially in the world of media/journalism here at RoH, now is a fantastic time to cover stories of hope, outside of the box thinking and projects/initiatives that are moving the needle when it comes to health. In order to make an impact we need to start looking at opportunities beyond health, making sure that we start broadening our horizons for what's important when it comes to this field. The Pulse + Signal Job Board is interested in partnering with media companies to make this happen for innovative positions in health journalism - a new frontier is upon us.

How it Works:
