George B. Sánchez-Tello

George B. Sánchez-Tello writes Capital and Main’s California Uncovered column on the intersections of race, health and wealth disparities in California. With over 20 years of experience as a reporter, he has won awards including the Investigative Reporters and Editors’ Tom Renner Award for Outstanding Crime Reporting, National Association of Hispanic Journalists’ Television Documentary Award and the Arizona Press Club’s Don Bolles Investigative Reporting Award. Sánchez-Tello is a 2022 Periplus Collective Fellow and a 2021 American Civil Liberties Union Scharlette Holdman Mitigation Mentorship Fellow. In addition, Sánchez-Tello teaches in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies at California State University, Northridge. For the California Health Equity Fellowship, he will report several columns focusing on community-led approaches to youth mental health support among communities of color.
