Doctoring is about service. It's about getting out of bed at 3 in the morning so someone survives to morning. That was the indelible lesson of a house call joined when I was six years old. A man was having chest pain and we were off. Doctoring is vital. It is urgent, important, and often dramatic. I've been at it 50 years.
