Allison is the creator, host and producer of Bodies podcast. Each episode of this documentary series is one woman's journey to solve a mystery about her body. The series combines intimate, nuanced storytelling with health reporting to uncover the layers that affect women’s health. Bodies is made with support from KCRW in Santa Monica. Bodies has been named to HuffPost's 31 Favorite Podcasts of 2018 and The Atlantic's 50 Best Podcasts of 2018 and was recently reviewed by the NY Book Review
 
Allison was born and raised in Maryland. And after graduating from Princeton University with a BA in sociology, she taught English in northern Thailand, then returned to the States to teach 10th grade in the Bronx. Allison also helped to launch a women’s health non-profit in India. She studied writing and multimedia at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies. Allison then got her start in podcasting in 2015 as the host and producer of The Intern, a first-person documentary about navigating the startup world and New York City.
 
For the USC California Fellowship, Allison will be investigating the Johnson & Johnson’s negligence concerning asbestos in their baby powder and the connection between talc powder and cancer in women.
