What are the legal consequences of using marijuana while pregnant and breastfeeding? Is the use of marijuana by a mother considered child endangerment? In Fresno, California, officials consider parental use of marijuana not enough to qualify for abuse or neglect.  However, if marijuana use affects the best interests of the child, courts will consider a number of factors. And the exact definition of child endangerment will vary from state to state.
