Hiran Ratnayake

Senior Manager of Media and Government Relations

Hiran J. Ratnayake serves as the senior manager of media and government relations at Christiana Care Health System. In this capacity, Hiran works closely with external media outlets to educate and raise awareness about Christiana Care's innovative programs designed to enhance the health of the local community. Hiran also works closely with lawmakers and officials -- in city, county, state and federal agencies and chambers - to strengthen programs that Christiana Care offers to provide health education and health care to the community. Hiran volunteers with Brandywine Village Network and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Delaware, for which he was recently awarded the 2014 Governor's Outstanding Volunteer Award. Hiran wrestled in college, graduated from Penn State University with a degree in journalism and obtained a Master of Arts in health journalism from the University of Minnesota. He enjoys cycling, disc golf, mountain hikes and watching football. He and his wife, Maggie, live in Newark, Delaware.
