Janine Nakama

I am a 28-year broadcast veteran of Television News. I started out as an assignment editor at KGTV, the ABC affiliate in San Diego and later became a writer, line producer, segment and field producer. I devoted 10 years to covering health news and created an award-winning health segment. Three years ago, I became a freelance producer to spend more time with my children. I also founded STAT Media Productions, a production company in San Diego. In 2005 I first became a broadcast fellow. I was a Senior Fellow in 2008 and now in 2009.
