Nathan Welton

Nathan is an award-winning journalist specializing in science, adventure and health writing. Outside of work, he is an avid cyclist, climber, traveler and outdoorsman.

Nathan has written for The Boston Globe, Natural History Magazine, E Magazine, The Christian Science Monitor, Scuba Diving and Climbing -- among other national publications. 

He's also worked for NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary System, contributed to encyclopedias and copy-edited everything from dissertations to medical text books. He recently covered health care for a Knight Ridder daily in California and is now working as a freelancer out of Colorado. 

The Inland Press Association awarded his work a third place in explanatory writing in its 2005 national contest, and the California Newspaper Publishers Association named his story on hospital billing the top business story of 2005.
