Richard Bammer

Staff Writer

I am a staff writer at The Reporter, a small community daily newspaper, in Vacaville, Calif., where I have worked for 21 years. In that time, I have covered a variety of beats, most recently education but also arts and entertainment, business, general assignment, and police and fire (on Saturdays). I earned a master's degree in humanities from Dominican College (now Dominican University) of San Rafael, Calif., in 1999. I have earned writing awards from the California Teachers Association, the Associated Press and the California Newspaper Publishers Association. I enjoy gardening, traveling and fishing.
