Sarah Gustavus is a public media journalist and the producer of New Mexico In Focus on New Mexico PBS/KNME-TV. Prior to joining NMPBS, she was the executive producer of national programs for Koahnic Broadcast Corporation where she oversaw production of three national programs that focused on Native Americans and Alaska Natives. She has worked for public radio stations in Washington State and New Mexico and her work has aired nationally on All Things Considered, Latino USA, Weekend America, Making Contact, Tell Me More, the NPR newscast and various documentary specials. As a 2011 Immigration in the Heartland Fellow with the Institute for Justice and Journalism (IJJ), she produced an award-winning series on New Mexico’s immigration history and the implementation of the Secure Communities program. Sarah earned a master’s in Media and Communication from City University London and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
